Two dominant guards in Javen Poindexter and Peyton Plott are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Red Level Tigers will be playing at home against the Carroll Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Level has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 540 points over their last eight matches.
Red Level pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to McKenzie 69-63.
Carroll suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Headland by a score of 44-41. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Carroll came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Headland is ranked 293rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Michael Culver, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of N'jia Gosha, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Red Level's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Carroll, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.
