With a playoff game on the line, the Sylva Bay Academy Saints rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 46-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sylva Bay Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Sylva Bay Academy found their leader in underclassman Cash Pickel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Boyd, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Sylva Bay Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Sylva Bay Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays Hillcrest Christian at 7:45 p.m. on February 9th. Hillcrest Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Sylva Bay Academy likes a good challenge. River Oaks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
