Orange recap November 5, 2013
Santa Ana Valley moved up to 644 from 678 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Orange. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of topping Century 34-9.
Santa Ana Valley added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Centurions, 34-9. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Anaheim's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hayden Guidry threw for 80 and 1 touchdown and Golliath Gaddy had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Josh Tafoya chipped in 97 yards. Andy Ortega helped Anaheim's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 29 yards.
Tafoya was a passing and rushing force as the Colonists lost to Magnolia. Tafoya's key target this week was Gaddy, who caught 2 passes for 34 yards.
Tafoya was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 97 yards on 17 carries as Anaheim fell to the Sentinels. Jonathan Diaz also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.
Anaheim's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Colonists feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Guidry has thrown for 923 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Gaddy has 32 catches for 436 yards.
An important game coming up in Orange this week will be when Magnolia takes on the Falcons. Ryan Olson's team is in fourth place, while Santa Ana Valley is in first place.
Savanna lost to Katella 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
