The Forrest County Agricultural Aggies will venture away from home to square off against the Gautier Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forrest County Agricultural will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Forrest County Agricultural turned things around against Our Lady Academy on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Crescents. With that victory, the Aggies brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Ensley Lawler made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Lawler was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine contests.

In other batting news, Forrest County Agricultural got a massive performance out of Presley Parker, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave Parker a new career-high in RBI. Lisa Tisdale also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Forrest County Agricultural always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Gautier came up short against Perry Central on Monday, falling 17-11.
Madison Parker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5.
Gautier has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Forrest County Agricultural's record now sits at 6-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Forrest County Agricultural has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gautier struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Forrest County Agricultural suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Gautier in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Can Forrest County Agricultural avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
