Several Bombers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Breaunna Ward, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 16 points and seven steals. Ward has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Mays, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points.
Burroughs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for St. Joseph's Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Burroughs will host Lutheran North at 5:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cor Jesu Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. Cor Jesu Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something St. Joseph's Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
