The Wynot Blue Devils will square off against the Sandhills/Thedford Knights at 2:45 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wynot comes in on 11 and Sandhills/Thedford on eight.
Wynot had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against Howells-Dodge by a score of 22-14 on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wynot to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Heine, who rushed for 13 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 158 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Carson Wieseler, who gained 92 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Sandhills/Thedford faced South Loup in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sandhills/Thedford strolled past South Loup with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 33-18.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Kyle Cox and Trey Connell. Cox had a great game and rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Connell did his best for the losing side, rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Wynot to 11-0 and Sandhills/Thedford to 11-1.
