San Antonio Memorial suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 68-42 walloping at the hands of Fox Tech.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-42, which was the final score in John F. Kennedy's tilt against La Vernia on Friday. While losing is never fun, John F. Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 808th, while La Vernia is ranked 261st).
Despite their loss, John F. Kennedy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sebastian Andrade, who scored 11 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Hudson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
San Antonio Memorial bumped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for John F. Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.
San Antonio Memorial lost to John F. Kennedy on the road by a decisive 70-53 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can San Antonio Memorial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
