Sunnyside has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cienega Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunnyside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 14 more assists than your opponent, a fact Sunnyside proved on Monday. They really took it to Desert View for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-31 victory on the road.
XAVIER LEYVA had a dynamite game for Sunnyside, scoring 26 points along with 5 steals. Jonathan Greene was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cienega pushed their score all the way to 79 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 80-79 to Cactus Shadows.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jackson Moore, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Sdobnev, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assists.
Their wins bumped Sunnyside to 3-2 and Desert View to 1-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Sunnyside hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 58.8 points per game. However, it's not like Cienega struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 72.2 per game. The only thing between Sunnyside and another offensive beatdown is Cienega.
