The Floyd Central Highlanders lost against the Jeffersonville Red Devils back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Floyd Central fell 45-32 to Jeffersonville. It was the first time this season that Floyd Central let down their fans at home.
It was another big night for Lakyra Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds for Jeffersonville. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Jeffersonville's points. Laqaya Gold was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Floyd Central's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Jeffersonville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Coincidentally, Floyd Central and Jeffersonville will both be playing Columbus East the next time they take the court. Floyd Central will head out to face Columbus East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Jeffersonville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
