On Friday Sherman take on Fayetteville at 7:30 PM. Sherman have bulldozed their previous four opponents, so Fayetteville might have their hands full.
Last Friday, Sherman put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of Ravenswood and carried off a 28-3 win. Sherman were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot point totals in their last 3 games, Fayetteville fizzled out. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-33 punch to the gut against Wheeling Central Catholic. The low total for Fayetteville limited their streak of high-flying scores to 3 in a row.
Sherman's victory lifted them to 4-1 while Fayetteville's loss dropped them down to 4-1. In their victory, Sherman relied heavily on senior Tommy Harper, who rushed for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns. Fayetteville will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
