Nogales has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Sierra Vista Dons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Nogales earned a 54-43 win over the Falcons.
Meanwhile, everything went Sierra Vista's way against the Aztecs on Wednesday as the Dons made off with a 57-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sierra Vista.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sierra Vista to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Orozco, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Buna, who scored six points along with three steals.
Nogales now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Sierra Vista, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.
Nogales couldn't quite finish off the Dons when the teams last played last Monday and fell 46-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Orozco, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Now that Nogales knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
