The Liberal Redskins won the last time they faced the Woodward Boomers, and things went their way on Friday too. Liberal came out on top against Woodward by a score of 61-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Liberal.
Liberal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Contreras led the charge by scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That's the first time this season that Contreras pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamari Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Liberal is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Woodward, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberal will square off against Hooker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodward, they will head out on the road to face off against Duncan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
