Basketball Recap: KAHLIL KIBBLE's Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Assembly Christian over Nettleton

First Assembly Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Nettleton on Saturday. The Crusaders took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), the Crusaders still had to take the loss.

First Assembly Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was KAHLIL KIBBLE, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 21 points and three steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 43% in the last three games he's played. JAELYN BLACKWELL was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for First Assembly Christian and nudges their season record down to 3-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Nettleton, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

First Assembly Christian has already played their next matchup, a 71-65 victory against Munford on the 8th. As for Nettleton, they will head out on the road to square off against Brookland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
