Volleyball Recap: Slinger Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Grafton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Slinger, they should've done a better job of containing Brooke Zoromski. The Owls narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Black Hawks 3-2 thanks in part to Zoromski, who had 21 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Slinger wouldn't go down easily and took Grafton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-12, 24-26, 26-24, 15-13.

Grafton lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Abigail Barthelemy, who had 26 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Paige Arentz, who had 23 assists.

Slinger is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. As for Grafton, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 21-7.

Slinger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grafton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Catholic Memorial on the 9th.
