Mohave is 2-8 against Coconino since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Mohave will look to defend their home field against Coconino at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mohave will bounce into Monday's match after beating Flagstaff, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Mohave put the hurt on Flagstaff with a sharp 16-6 win on Saturday.
Audrina Martinez spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Those two home runs gave Fernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Allison Portillo, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Mohave hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, while Coconino put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Cactus Shadows. Coconino blew past Cactus Shadows 11-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won eight games in a row.
Kaitlyn Tso made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Tso was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Coconino let Sophie Monsman and Danica Kern run wild. Monsman went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Kern scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Villas, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Coconino pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mohave, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mohave hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .370. However, it's not like Coconino struggles in that department as they've averaged .395. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
