The Beaumont School Blue Streaks will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Lutheran West Longhorns at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Beaumont School had to settle for a 45-42 defeat against Cornerstone Christian.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mackenizie Callender, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shannon Shea, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lutheran West scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They really took it to Brooklyn for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-37 win on the road. The win was some much needed relief for Lutheran West as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Beaumont School's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lutheran West, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Beaumont School came up short against Lutheran West when the teams last played back in November of 2016, falling 47-34. Can Beaumont School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
