Softball Recap: North Augusta Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for North Augusta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Airport Eagles 11-0 on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Lia Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 12 matches.

In other pitching news, Avery Rushing looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Savannah Allen, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Emily Geddes was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

North Augusta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Augusta has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. Airport's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Coincidentally, North Augusta and Airport will both be playing Gilbert the next time they take the field. Airport will host Gilbert at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while North Augusta will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
