Ichabod Crane had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Lansingburgh Knights. The Riders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.
Torri Cutler was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Cutler was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Charlotte Pelizza and Abbey Milazzo did most of the damage at the plate: Pelizza went 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Milazzo went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
