The Troy Trojans had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past Muncy with points to spare, taking the game 55-37.
Muncy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stiles Eyer, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Noah Confer, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Troy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Muncy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Troy will look to defend their home court on Saturday against MMI Preparatory School at 7:00 p.m. As for Muncy, they will head out on the road to face off against Sullivan County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sullivan County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Muncy is ranked 170th).
