The Monarch Knights were the 42-36 winner over the Everglades Gators when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Monarch was dealt a 72-40 defeat at the hands of Everglades on Thursday. Monarch was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-19.
Despite the loss, Monarch still got an impressive performance from Cody Dinnall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Dinnall scored a full 35% of Monarch's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Everglades, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monarch will take on Hollywood Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Everglades, they will be playing at home against South Broward at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
