The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past Christchurch School with a 38-32 victory.
Miller School of Albemarle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Jackson, who scored eight points along with three steals. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Parker Braxton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Alexis Foster and Khoudia Diagne certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Foster scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Diagne dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foster has scored all season.
Miller School of Albemarle pushed their record up to 5-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Christchurch School, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Miller School of Albemarle will head out on the road to face off against The Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christchurch School, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Atlantic Shores Christian at 1:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Atlantic Shores Christian is ranked 206th, while Christchurch School is ranked 223rd).
