The Waukegan Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 59-37 defeat at the hands of Mundelein. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waukegan in their matchups with Mundelein: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Waukegan saw an underclassman step up: Aaliaya Cade scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Hadassah Brown , who scored eight points.
Waukegan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Mundelein, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waukegan will square off against New Trier at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. New Trier presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Waukegan in Illinois (New Trier is ranked 82nd, while Waukegan is ranked 441st). Mundelein won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Glenbrook North at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th. Glenbrook North is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
