Cholla extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-9. They lost 18-3 to the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 18-2 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Cholla saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Pratti, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Nallely Contreras also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-13-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
On Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's side, Josie Burnside and Maddy Hoel made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Burnside tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hoel pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burnside has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Burnside went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hoel fired off three triples, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three triples gave Hoel a new career-high.
In other batting news, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Hannah DeBake, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Milan Daniels, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Coming up, Cholla will head out on the road to square off against Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Tanque Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
