The Center Grove Trojans will face off against the Mt. Vernon Marauders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Center Grove is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Center Grove came out on top against Tri-West Hendricks on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Trojans walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Bruins.

Ana Powell and Kiersten Hardin did most of the damage at the plate: Powell went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hardin went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Hardin a new career-high. Addison Wolff was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Center Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
Mt. Vernon came out on top against Anderson on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Marauders blew past the Indians 10-1.
Ameila Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Emma Jenkins was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three doubles. Another player making a difference was Breanna Laffey, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Center Grove's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mt. Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.
Mt. Vernon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Center Grove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Mt. Vernon, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Center Grove's hitters?
Center Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Vernon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
