Last Friday, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] faced Stanberry in a battle between two of the state's top teams. East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 20-24 to Stanberry. Despite the loss, East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] saw an underclassman step up: Freshman Kaylin Merriweather rushed for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. McEnaney has now scored at least one touchdown in the past four games.
Meanwhile, South Nodaway/Jefferson have had to suffer through a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Stewartsville/Osborn as they made off with a 60-26 win. The rankings were on South Nodaway/Jefferson's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat South Nodaway/Jefferson 58-14. Will East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] repeat their success, or does South Nodaway/Jefferson have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
