The Eastside Tigers's game on Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They managed a 57-52 victory over Lenape. The victory was all the more spectacular given Eastside's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Lenape is ranked 14th).
Eastside had a senior duo take command as Jahaan Green scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals and Will Love scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tyrone Washam, who scored six points along with five assists.
Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Lenape, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.
Eastside will face off against Metamora at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Metamora is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Lenape won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kingsway at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Kingsway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
