Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Cotulla's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Cotulla won the last time they faced Crystal City and things went their way on Monday too. The Cowboys blew past the Javelinas 12-1. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Eloyandra Zertuche was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Bella Linares also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cotulla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Crystal City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Coming up, Cotulla will challenge Somerset at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. Crystal City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
