The Skyline Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over Blackfoot. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, as Skyline did.
It was another big night for Shay Shippen, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. The match was her 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kysa Shippen, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Blackfoot saw an underclassman step up: Jaci Capson scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Marlee Pieper, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Blackfoot, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.
Skyline will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hillcrest is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Blackfoot, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Idaho Falls at 7:30 p.m. Idaho Falls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Blackfoot is ranked 22nd).
