Basketball Recap: Plumas Charter Skates Past Surprise Valley with Ease

Plumas Charter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 73-30 victory over the Surprise Valley Hornets. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Dalton Bentz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a triple-double on 30 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Plumas Charter's points. Michael Taddei was another key player, going 6 for 7 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Plumas Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Surprise Valley only posted five assists.

Surprise Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wyatt Carpenter, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Eichstadt, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Plumas Charter's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Surprise Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Chester the next time they take the court. Surprise Valley will head out to face Chester at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Plumas Charter will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
