Lowndes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lowndes who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 15-9.

Thomas County Central dropped their record down to 2-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Lowndes and Thomas County Central will both be playing Perry the next time they take the court. The Vikings will host the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Yellow Jackets will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
