Nicholas County is a perfect 4-0 against PikeView since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Grizzlies will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Nicholas County barely beat Woodrow Wilson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grizzlies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Flying Eagles a 17-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Grizzlies, who have now won three matches in a row.

Another player making a difference was Aubrey Clark, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Nicholas County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
PikeView not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 19-0). They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Montcalm. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Emma Compton was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Compton was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Abby Hedrick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Kaylie Honaker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Nicholas County pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for PikeView, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Nicholas County came out on top in a nail-biter against PikeView when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
