Elba have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Eustis-Farnam at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes : the MaxPreps national rankings predict a close match.
Elba couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were completely outmatched, falling 6-60 to Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. Elba got a solid performance out of senior Brody Buckendahl, who rushed for 132 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 9 tackles Buckendahl was a force on both sides of the ball.
Last Friday, Eustis-Farnam had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 72-61 win over South Platte.
Eustis-Farnam's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Elba's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Eustis-Farnam can add another positive mark to their record or if Elba can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Eustis-Farnam's step.
