After flying high against the Harvard Cardinals last Monday, the Silver Lake Mustangs came back down to earth. Silver Lake was the victim of a rough 39-15 loss at the hands of Wilcox-Hildreth on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Silver Lake has scored all season.
Emma Schmidt was Silver Lake's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Mckenna Pankoke held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Wilcox-Hildreth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cara Bunger out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Bunger hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Bunger, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Silver Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Lake will take on Lawrence-Nelson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence-Nelson is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they will play host again and welcome Franklin, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
