The North Posey Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Boonville Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, North Posey was beaten by Evansville Central 63-34. While losing is never fun, North Posey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Evansville Central is ranked 88th).
North Posey's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alyssa Heath, who scored 14 points, and Elle jo Johnson who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was Heath's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mallory Luigs, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Boonville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-39 to Evansville Mater Dei. Boonville has not had much luck with Evansville Mater Dei recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
North Posey's victory bumped their season record to 1-2 while Evansville Central's defeat dropped theirs to 6-2.
North Posey strolled past Boonville when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 53-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Posey since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
