The Milford Central Wildcats waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They claimed a resounding 73-34 win over Hunter-Tannersville at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-14.
Milford Central found their leader in underclassman Christian Lawson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Lawson is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Carter Stevens, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Milford Central pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Hunter-Tannersville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford Central's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hunter-Tannersville will take on the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
