There's no place like home for the West Florida Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They breezed by Escambia at home to the tune of 60-14. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory West Florida has managed all season.
West Florida's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amani (AB) Bartholomew, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Bartholomew's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Shania Beeks was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with nine steals.
West Florida's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Escambia, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
West Florida will head out on the road to face off against Booker T. Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Escambia, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Elberta at 6:00 p.m. Elberta comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
