The Hickory Christian Academy Knights will challenge the Westminster Catawba Christian Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hickory Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Hickory Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against North Hills Christian by a score of 11-6. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Samuel Yount made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Yount wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Davis Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Morgan a new career-high.
Hickory Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Westminster Catawba Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Community Christian Academy on Monday and fell 8-7.
Like Hickory Christian Academy, Westminster Catawba Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Braden Campolo. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Campolo has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Westminster Catawba Christian now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
