The Carver Montgomery Wolverines had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Lanier with points to spare, taking the game 39-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Carver Montgomery also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Terrell Russell jr. threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes. Laquenton Underwood was his top target, picking up 93 receiving yards.
Carver Montgomery's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for Lanier, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Carver Montgomery will head out on the road to face off against Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Pike Road is ranked 31st, while Carver Montgomery is ranked 33rd). As for Lanier, they will be playing at home against Wetumpka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
