Fitzgerald lost to Brantley County back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane secured a 44-39 W over the Brantley County Herons. Winning may never get old, but the Purple Hurricane sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Fitzgerald's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kianti McDuffie, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Chariyell Jones, who scored 12 points.

The victory got Fitzgerald back to even at 12-12. As for Brantley County, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Looking ahead, Fitzgerald and Worth County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Worth County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Brantley County, they and Thomasville will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. Thomasville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Brantley County likes a good challenge.
