Baseball Recap: Central Magnet Extends Winning Streak to Four

Central Magnet came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Oliver Springs Bobcats with a sharp 19-6 victory. With that win, Central Magnet brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Central Magnet got a massive performance out of Elijah Bonner, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave Bonner a new career-high. Braden Donahue also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Central Magnet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Central Magnet's record now sits at 14-12. As for Oliver Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10-1.

Coming up, Central Magnet will head out on the road to challenge Giles County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oliver Springs, they will take on Oneida at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bobcats are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
