AAA Region 6 recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAA Region 6 this week, Cedar Grove beat Towers 45-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Woodward Academy was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the War Eagles triumphed over Decatur 37-7.
St. Pius X Catholic's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joey Connors threw for 30 and 1 touchdown and Riley Gessner had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Dalton Wilson contributed 52 yards.
The Golden Lions' dynamic duo of Connors and Gessner proved to be unstoppable against McNair, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Wilson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as St. Pius X Catholic topped the Mustangs.
The Titans are currently in fourth, while Woodward Academy is in third.
