Dawson Springs has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Apollo Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dawson Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
Even though Heritage Christian Academy scored an imposing 58 points, Dawson Springs still came out on top. Dawson Springs walked away with a 68-58 victory over Heritage Christian Academy.
Dawson Springs relied on the efforts of Rex Blue, who scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists, and Montgomery Johnston, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnston has scored at least 25% of Dawson Springs' points. Another player making a difference was Jaybird Plunkette, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, even though Union County scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Apollo still came out on top. Apollo took their contest against Union County 68-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Apollo.
The losses dropped Dawson Springs to 2-1 and Heritage Christian Academy to 1-2.
Dawson Springs was taken down by Apollo 95-62 in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Dawson Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
