Mustang has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.
Mustang found their leader in underclassman Mya Alston, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Alston has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elaina Valentin Florence, who scored 15 points.
Mustang has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Destiny Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Mustang will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Piedmont sitting on three straight victories and Mustang on four. Destiny Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Noble at 10:00 a.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Noble is ranked 280th, while Destiny Christian is ranked 269th).
