The Nativity BVM Green Wave scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Weatherly 84-56 on the road. Nativity BVM has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Nativity BVM was led to victory by Trey Keating and Blake Adams. Keating scored 31 points along with two steals, while Adams dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Quirk, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists.
Weatherly lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ian Mckeegan, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Mckeegan hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Niko Saldukas, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Nativity BVM's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Weatherly, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nativity BVM is on the road again on Saturday and plays Pottsville at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. Pottsville is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, meaning Nativity BVM will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Weatherly, they will head out on the road to square off against MMI Preparatory School at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weatherly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
