Grandview has won four straight games at home, while Cherry Creek has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Wolves will welcome the Bruins at 4:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Saturday, Grandview got the win against Smoky Hill by a conclusive 11-3. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Justin Dean made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Chapman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kyle Cacciavillani, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cherry Creek faced Arapahoe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bruins blew past the Warriors 12-1.
Wyatt Rudden tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Cherry Creek let Connor Larkin and Sean Klaess run wild. Larkin went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Klaess went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Rudden, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Cherry Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.
Grandview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Cherry Creek, their win bumped their record up to 16-4-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grandview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Cherry Creek struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Grandview couldn't quite finish off Cherry Creek in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 11-9. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
