The Lakeview Bulldogs lost against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lakeview ended up on the wrong side of a tough 46-22 walloping at the hands of Poland Seminary. While losing is never fun, Lakeview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while Poland Seminary is ranked 199th).
Despite the defeat, Lakeview had strong showings from Anna Haynie, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, and Annabelle Humphrey, who scored ten points.
Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Poland Seminary, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Lakeview will finish 2023 at home by hosting Newton Falls at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Newton Falls is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Poland Seminary will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Range at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
