The Morrice Orioles will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Durand Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morrice is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Morrice scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They secured a 50-45 W over Genesee. That looming 50-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Morrice yet this season.
Meanwhile, Durand entered their tilt with New Lothrop with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. The stars were shining brightly for Durand in a 51-34 victory over New Lothrop last Tuesday.
It was another big night for Markell Tate, who scored 15 points along with four steals. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Smith, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Morrice's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. Durand's record is now 4-2.
Morrice was taken down by Durand 88-42 when the teams last played back in January. Can Morrice avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
