Sadly, the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 games. They had to suffer through a rough 46-17 loss at the hands of Baptist Hill. Lowcountry Leadership has not had much luck with Baptist Hill recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Baptist Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shaniah Townsend led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 steals. Townsend has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sharice Blufton, who scored nine points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Lowcountry Leadership dropped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.6 points per game. As for Baptist Hill, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
Lowcountry Leadership will head out on the road to square off against Northwood Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwood Academy will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Lowcountry Leadership surely won't give up without a fight. As for Baptist Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Burke at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Burke focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday.
