The Mount Desert Island Trojans are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Hampden Broncos at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
Things were looking good for Mount Desert Island after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-3 to Hermon. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Hawks since on Monday.

Colin Sullivan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampden). They came out on top against Messalonskee by a score of 11-6 on Monday. With that win, the Broncos brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Hampden let Kaysen Wildman and Andrew Cote run wild. Wildman went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Cote got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Wildman a new career-high. Rogan Lord was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Hampden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Messalonskee only posted an OBP of .364.
Hampden has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Desert Island, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount Desert Island has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hampden struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mount Desert Island suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Hampden in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
