Foran has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Mercy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Foran came up short against Sheehan and fell 47-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Foran has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Maddie Deldin, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that she posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Doyle, who scored six points along with six blocks.
Meanwhile, Mercy came out on top against Hillhouse on Wednesday by a score of 61-47 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). Given Mercy's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Hillhouse is ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Foran's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for Mercy, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Foran couldn't quite finish off Mercy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 58-55. Can Foran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
